About the Mavs
The Dallas Wheelchair Mavericks, formerly known as the Dallas Raiders, were established in 1972 by two Vietnam Veterans. In 1981, the Dallas Raiders agreed to adopt the name of Dallas’s NBA franchise in an effort to promote both Dallas teams. Since becoming the Dallas Wheelchair Mavericks, the team has garnered a championship caliber reputation; winning consecutive National Wheelchair Basketball Association (NWBA) championships from 1996-2001, 2010-2013 and 2014-2017. In addition to competing nationally, the team has gone undefeated while playing in Japan, Great Britain, Canada and Mexico. PER4MAX is proud to sponsor the Dallas Wheelchair Mavericks. Their commitment to creating awareness about the capabilities of Dallas-Fort Worth area disabled individuals through wheelchair basketball and public speaking. Off the court, they have provided scholarships to students with disabilities at the University of Texas-Arlington and Texas Woman’s University and are always seeking and appreciative of sponsorships.
