CEO and three-time Team USA Paralympian William Hernandez started building his own chairs in 1999 as a student-athlete studying engineering at the University of Texas at Arlington. He believed there was a better way to build a better performance wheelchair — for himself, his teammates, and every wheelchair user who deserved more than what the market offered.
Willie still leads design and engineering at PER4MAX today, including the wheelchairs that equipped Team USA's Men's and Women's 2016 Paralympic Gold Medal teams. Twenty-seven years later, the mission hasn't changed: empower wheelchair users to maximize their abilities and do it in their own unique style — no matter their sport, lifestyle, or goals.
